1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the "VibeSEO On-Page Checker" browser extension for Google Chrome (the "Extension"). It is separate from the privacy policy that governs the VibeSEO web application at https://vibeseo.dev.
In short: the Extension does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. Everything it does runs locally in your browser.
2. What the Extension Does
When you click the Extension icon, it reads the content of the page you are currently viewing — such as the title, meta tags, headings, structured data, links, images, and favicon markup — and shows an on-page SEO report in its popup. No account or sign-in is required.
This analysis is performed entirely on your device. The report is generated in the popup and discarded when you close it.
3. Data We Collect
None. The Extension does not collect personal information; does not use analytics, tracking, cookies, or fingerprinting; does not read your browsing history; and does not transmit the page content, the URL, or any analysis result to VibeSEO or to any third party.
Nothing the Extension reads ever leaves your browser.
4. Permissions
activeTab: lets the Extension read the page you are currently on, and only at the moment you click the icon. It provides no access to your other tabs or to background browsing.
scripting: used to read the current page and to load its declared favicon resources so their availability and size can be checked. It runs only on the active tab, and only after you click the icon.
The Extension requests no broad host permissions and contains no remote code — all of its code is included in the package.
5. Network Activity
The Extension makes no requests to VibeSEO servers. The only network activity is part of the favicon check: to verify that the current site’s icons exist and to measure their size, your browser loads those icon files and the site’s web manifest from the website you are already viewing.
These requests go to the current website’s own servers, are made by your browser, and carry no information about you beyond what your browser already sends when loading that site. No results are sent to us.
6. Outbound Link
The popup contains a link to https://vibeseo.dev. It opens only if you choose to click it, in a new tab. Following that link is subject to the VibeSEO web application’s own privacy policy.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and post the revised policy on this page.
